SJSU President Mary Papazian
“No discussion of student success is complete without addressing the basic needs of
our students. As I know you are all aware there continues to be challenges facing
our region as well as our nation as a whole around affordable housing and the high
cost of living" — Spring State of the University Address, 04.08.2019
100 Days Challenge brings additional support for homelessness
While SJSU Cares has worked with the Bill Wilson Center (BWC) in the past our joint 100
Days Challenge in collaboration with Santa Clara County organizations positioned the BWC
to make a greater impact to reduce homelessness. During the time of the Challenge
the county helped house or keep housed 134 college-engaged youth.
If you need assistance, the help is still out there.
Whether you need financial assistance yourself or are concerned about a friend or
student, please submit a Request for Assistance [form] from SJSU Cares.
A Case Manager will meet with you (either in person or over the phone) to understand
the circumstances surrounding your financial crisis—and then work directly with you
to find resources on campus or in the community to help you succeed.
